Kenwood

Vineyard country beneath the Mayacamas, with estate living at a relaxed pace.

Kenwood sits at the northern end of Sonoma Valley, surrounded by vineyards and the dramatic slopes of the Mayacamas. The village itself is small, but the surrounding area contains an impressive range of vineyard estates, equestrian properties, hillside homes and private compounds.

For buyers interested in land, Kenwood can offer opportunities for hobby vineyards, guest accommodations and larger-scale estate living. Parcel-specific diligence is important: planted acreage, vine age, water, septic, zoning, wildfire exposure and access can all influence how a property functions and what it may support over time.

Kenwood is also exceptionally well positioned for recreation, with Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, Hood Mountain and numerous wineries nearby.

Landmarks & Points of Interest

A rural community tucked between the Sonoma and Napa valleys, Kenwood is defined by its vineyards and its proximity to the Mayacamas Mountains and the valley’s premier state park.

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park

A 4,000-acre park in the Mayacamas Mountains with 25 miles of trails, a seasonal 25-foot waterfall, and the headwaters of Sonoma Creek. From the 2,729-foot summit of Bald Mountain, clear-day views can reach San Francisco, the Sierra Nevada, and Mount St. Helena.

Robert Ferguson Observatory

Located within Sugarloaf Ridge, this is one of the largest observatories in the western U.S. dedicated to public viewing and education, hosting popular star-gazing nights throughout the year.
